GA Range: From 8 to 14 weeks of gestational age.
Gaussian Markers: PAPP-A, Free beta hCG and NT
First trimester combined Screening offers greater efficiency, and allows earlier intervention. It combines biochemical (Free beta hCG, PAPP-A) and Ecographic markers (Nuchal Translucency). There are different strategies according when the values of the markers are determined:
OSCAR (one stop for clinical assessment of risk): All markers. free beta hCG, PAPP-A and NT are measured at the same time, between 11 and 14 weeks of gestation.
First trimester combined test in two steps: Biochemistry (PAPP-A and free beta hCG) is measured in the most initial weeks and NT is measured later. (Maximum sensitivity period of each marker).
GA Range: From 14 to 22 weeks of gestational age.
Gaussian Markers: AFP, free beta hCG or hCG+beta, uE3 and Inhibin-A
2T Biochemical Screening don’t use Ecographic Gaussian markers.
There are different kinds of second trimester profiles according the combination of biochemical markers:
Double test: AFP and free beta hCG or hCG+beta
Triple test: AFP and free beta hCG or hCG+beta and uE3
Quadruple test: AFP and free beta hCG or hCG+beta, uE3 and Inhibin-A
GA Range: From 8 to 14 weeks of gestational age.
Gaussian Markers: PAPP-A, PlGF, Arterial Tension and Uterine Artery Doppler
The preeclampsia screening profile uses a combination of Gaussian markers (PAPP-A, PlGF, Arterial Tension and Uterine Artery Doppler) and Maternal Dichotomous markers (Chronic hypertension, renal disease, etc.) to compute the risk of developing Preeclampsia.
This profile distinguishes between the risk of Early and Late Preeclampsia.
